Instructions for University Residence Application New Student

Thank you for your interest in applying for our University residence program. We are proud of our program and are always excited at the prospect of adding new members to our community. In order to maintain the integrity of our program, we carefully screen all applicants. All the forms you need to apply for the residence program are available to download from this site, however, if you would like to receive an application package by mail, please contact:
Residence Office at (780) 479-9349.

STEP 1: Reading the Handbook

Before you complete any of the application material, we ask that you review the University Residence Life Handbook, which outlines the philosophy and guidelines of our residence life program. We welcome your application, but we also want you to understand the scope of our program before you apply.

STEP 2: Completing the Forms

  • Complete the University Residence Application form - ensure that you have answered all the questions and that the information is correct. We consider only those applications that are fully completed.
  • Complete the Student Questionnaire on your own - we want your input, not that of someone else!
  • Select two references and ask each of them to complete the Personal Reference Form. Make sure you give each referee a form. Your referees are to complete the forms and send them directly to the Residence Office. We will not accept reference forms sent by you with your application.
  • Roommate Questionnaire - helps us to match you with a compatible roommate
  • Residence Contract – states that you agree to all the guidelines laid out in the Residence Handbook

STEP 3: Returning the Forms

Residence Office
Concordia University College of Alberta

STEP 4: Personal Interview

When we have received all of the application items, we will contact you for a personal interview.

STEP 5: Acceptance to Residence

After the interview, we will notify you in writing regarding the outcome of your application. If you are accepted, your space in the residence is reserved ONLY when we have received an Advance Residence Deposit ($500.00 non-refundable deposit on your room fee). Note: Priority may be given to applicants residing outside of the greater Edmonton area.

New Student Forms

Due to the fact that the Residence Fees are under review for the 2009-2010 academic year, we are unable to place the appropriate forms online at this time. The Residence Application, Residence Life Information, and Policies and Procedures will be updated shortly. We are very sorry for the delay. We expect to have these forms available to be viewed and printed online within the next week or two. Again, thank you for your patience and for your interest in living in residence.
